METHOD FOR MANAGING SUBTITLE DATA OF HIGH-DENSITY OPTICAL DISK, AND HIGH-DENSITY OPTICAL DISK IN ACCORDANCE WITH MANAGING METHOD

PURPOSE: A method for managing subtitle data of a high-density optical disk, and a high-density optical disk in accordance with the managing method are provided to configure subtitle data in MNG(Multiple-image Network Graphics) format, and to encode the data into a transport stream, then to decode the subtitle data having the MNG format, thereby outputting the data in various display types. CONSTITUTION: An MNG encapsulator(20) converts various graphic images in MNG format. A TS packet encoder(21) encodes the converted graphic images into TS packets, and records the encoded TS packets in a data area of a BD(Blu-ray Disc)-ROM with main video data and audio data. Subtitle frame graphic images are converted in MNG format. Graphic images of plural objects(Object 1,Object2) included in one frame are converted into PNG(Portable Network Graphics) format, respectively defined in the MNG format. The MNG-format type frame is encoded into plural TS packets relative to PES(Packetized Elementary Stream) packets including a PTS(Presentation Time Stamp).
