PACKET SWITCHING METHOD AND SWITCHING DEVICE

PURPOSE: A packet switching method and switching device are provided to considerably reduce load in determining a destination and prevent generation of a contention inside a switch fabric. CONSTITUTION: Look-up tables(60-63) store identifier information for identifying a packet and information on an input port(10-13) to which the packet is to be applied, and corresponds to output ports(20-23). A switching controller(31) outputs a switching signal so that an input port corresponding to information on the input port stored together with the identification information can be connected to at least one output port if an identifier of a packet applied through an input port is identical to information of identification existing in the look-up table. A switching fabric(40) switches the applied packet immediately by connecting input ports(10-13) and output ports(20-23) in response to the switching signal of the switching controller(31).
