PURPOSE: A funnel is provided to reduce a magnetic field leakage by optimizing the size of effective screen and outer diameter of funnel at a reference line. CONSTITUTION: A cathode ray tube comprises a panel having an inner surface on which a phosphor screen is formed; a funnel coupled to the panel, and which has a yoke portion having a square vertical cross section and a neck portion; an electron gun mounted on the neck portion, and which emits electron beams toward the phosphor screen; and a deflection yoke mounted on the yoke portion of the funnel, and which deflects electron beams. The expressions 0.11<2V/A<0.145 and 0.095<2H/B<0.135 are satisfied, wherein 2V is the shorter axis outer diameter of vertical cross section at the reference line of the funnel, 2H is the longer axis outer diameter of vertical cross section at the reference line of the funnel, A is the shorter axis length of the effective surface of the panel, and B is the longer axis length of the effective surface of the panel.
