METHOD FOR FORMING/UPDATING ROM IMAGE OF FLASH MEMORY

PURPOSE: A method for forming/updating a ROM image of a flash memory is provided to shorten an update time and update the new system data easily and fast by dividing the flash memory into the flexible areas and updating only a necessary part. CONSTITUTION: A table is generated by receiving each area and a size of the area forming one image from a user(S12). A kernel area is allotted to the first of the ROM image on the table(S13). An area management information area is allotted to the last of the ROM image on the table(S14). If the memory remains by comparing a sum of each area with the size of a total ROM image, the allocation of the rest memory is inputted from a user(S16). The area allotting the remaining memory space is arranged to the area close to the area management information area(S17). If the rest memory is not present or the memory allotment is finished, the ROM image is generated by arranging the areas having many correlations between areas to a near position(S19).
