The DC supply has at least one transformer (35,36) with a primary winding (37,40) supplied from the AC network (34) and a pair of secondary windings (38,39 , 41,42), each coupled to a 3-phase rectifier path (45,46,47,48), supplying the DC load. Each rectifier path has 2 bridge halves (55,56,58,59,52,53,61,62) containing rectifier thyristors and a choke coil (51,54,57,60), all of the rectifier paths connected in parallel in a DC circuit (64), with different control angles for the thyristors in each rectifier path, used to maintain a constant blind load.
