PURPOSE: A system for selecting an optimal route and a management method thereof are provided to select the optimal route based on real time road information. CONSTITUTION: An optimal route selection system includes a mobile modem(12) connected to an antenna(11), a mobile communication terminal(10) having a central processing unit(14) and a storage unit(16), and a GPS receiving section(20) detachably coupled to the mobile communication terminal(10). The mobile communication terminal(10) has an input section and an output section for displaying an optimal route. A signal of the mobile communication terminal(10) is transferred to a base station transceiver subsystem(30) connected to a mobile switching center(50). The mobile switching center(50) is connected to a server(60).
