PURPOSE: A tilt servo method in a DVD-RAM is provided to detect a skew direction and a skew size of an inner circumference header area and an outer circumference header area, and to perceive distorted degrees of a disk and a pickup head and curved degrees of the disk, then to enable an objective lens to be parallel, thereby minimizing a data reading error. CONSTITUTION: When a new disk is inserted, a system measures jitters of the first/second header areas and the third/fourth header areas, respectively, by driving a tracking servo(S201,S203,S205). The system detects a tilt angle at which the jitters are minimal, and compares detected jitter angles(S207). If the first jitter angle is relatively bigger than the second jitter angle, the system confirms that the disk slopes in outer circumference direction(S209). If the first jitter angle is relatively smaller than the second jitter angle, the system confirms that the disk slopes in inner circumference direction(S211).
