PURPOSE: A level winding mechanism for a dual bearing reel, having a smooth reeling-in and -out function, is provided to smoothly reel in and out the fishing line. CONSTITUTION: The level winding mechanism for a dual bearing reel, winds the fishing line on the spool, which is rotatably arranged on the reel body, mounted on the fishing rod, in the crossed manner in the direction of a rotation shaft of the spool, and includes: a spiral shaft, extended to the first direction along the rotation shaft, rotatably supported on the reel body, and having a spiral groove on its own outer circumference; a body member; a coupling member, arranged on the body member and engaged with the spiral shaft; a cylindrical member(28b), having a tapered, fishline guide hole(28d), so as to be fitted into the body member; a fishline guide(27); and a guiding member, guiding the guide(27) towards the spiral shaft.
