PURPOSE: A device and a method for certifying a user are provided to secure the convenience/reliability/security for the user certification by a graphic password on a PDA(Personal Digital Assistant) having no key operation part. CONSTITUTION: A graphic password input part(10) judges that the graphic password is inputted from the outside. A controller(20) judges the user certification whether the matching between a position of the inputted graphic password and a reference position of the registered graphic password is within a certification margin or not. A storage(30) stores the registered graphic password and stores a graphic password input history if the graphic password is not registered. A graphic password input history analyzer(50) judges intrusion by using the graphic password input history.
