SILSESQUIOXANE-BASED POLYMER FIBER AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a silicon-containing polymer fiber having good heat resistance and flame retardancy, and to provide a method for producing the same. SOLUTION: This silicon-containing polymer fiber is characterized by being obtained from a hydrosilylated polymer produced from a hydridosilsesquioxane compound represented by general formula (1) : (HSiO3/2)n[(n) is an integer of 4 to 1,000] or its mixture and a divinylsiloxane compound represented by general formula (2) : CH2=CH-SiR2-O-(SiR2-O)q-(SiR'2-O)q'-SiR2-CH=CH2[R and R' are each an alkyl or aryl which may have one or more substituents; (q) and (q') are each 0 or a positive integer] or its mixture. The fiber can easily be obtained from the hydrosilylated polymer by a melt-spinning method or by a wet-spinning method. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI
