PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device capable of maximizing the efficiency of utilization of a glass in a liquid crystal panel by minimizing the overlapping amount between a case top and a liquid crystal module, and to provide a manufacture method thereof. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device is provided with a backlight assembly 18 for irradiating the liquid crystal panel with light, a main frame 14 which mounts the assembly 18 and the liquid crystal panel thereon and has a hook protrusion on the upper part thereof and the case top 10 which has many hook plates located so as to adjoin the hook protrusion 14a of the main frame. Therein, the case top 10 contains a cut and bent part wrapping the margin of the liquid crystal panel 26 and one part of the main frame. Thereby, the hook plate 12 formed inside the case top is fixed to the hook protrusion formed on the main frame used as a base body for laminating the assembly 18 and the liquid crystal panel 26. As a result, even when the overlapping width between the case top and the liquid crystal panel, that is, the overlapping amount is minimized, the balding phenomena of the case top can be prevented and, even upon the eccentricity of the case top, the assembly of the liquid crystal display device can be gently performed.
