PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composition for fuel, which hardly produces impurities and a jelly substance even when used as a substitute fuel for e.g. a diesel engine for a long period of time. SOLUTION: The composition for fuel is characterized in that it is prepared by mixing an edible oil component comprising at least one of a virgin edible oil and a purified waste edible oil having impurities removed therefrom, with a metal-free alkali component, that it is adjusted to be neutral or weakly alkaline, and also that it also contains at least one kind of a petroleum component selected from the group consisting of kerosines, hydrocarbon oils and alcohols.
