PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact mirror that permits a simple and quiet extraction of a mirror with one hand by simply moving horizontally by using a relatively weak spring without suddenly opening a lid against the gravity. SOLUTION: In the compact mirror 1, a mirror holder 3 with a mirror is extractably mounted between an upper plate 21 and a lower plate 22 of a case body 2. A guide shaft 25 is fixed along the direction of withdrawal of the mirror holder 3 in the case body 2 and inserted into a slide hole 315 bored in the mirror holder 3. A coil-shaped spring 41 outwardly urged is externally mounted to the guide shaft 25 between the rear end 32 of the mirror holder 3 and the back of the case body 2. A locking mechanism 5 preventing and releasing the movement of the mirror holder 3 and a speed reducing mechanism 6 reducing the speed of movement are arranged between the mirror holder 3 and the case body 2.
