The invention relates to a method and a device for the bi-directional transmission of electronic data in a television data cable network with segments comprising several user interfaces. Each of said segments is linked to a feed point of the television data cable network via a cable connection. According to the inventive method, downstream electronic remote data is transmitted within a downstream high frequency band in an upper border area of a transmission bandwidth of the cable connection while upstream electronic remote data is transmitted within an upstream high frequency band in the upper border area of the transmission bandwidth of the cable connection.
