The conveyor unit with an endless conveyor chain orientated in the longitudinal extent of the conveyor track has a pusher (40) constructed as a bell-crank lever which in the apex region is mounted to pivot on a hinge pin (32) installed in a bush. One member (41) of the bell-crank lever is a driver for the item of goods (20) being transported, while the other member (42) has a hook (43) which engages with positive locking with a locking bolt (31) in the conveying position. The locking bolt is fastened to such a bush of a chain link that is not directly adjacent to the bush of the hinge pin.
