The device is made of a single wire of stainless steel bent twice at the lower end; first into an obtuse angle and in a second step into a right angle. A handle is formed at the opposite end by bending the wire into a triangular shape. The lower end of the tool is guided through the plants growing on a foil at the bottom of a small pond. The inner surface of the hook-shaped area acts like a blade without damaging the foil with the outer surface.
