A retaining and connection piece for the fastening of a seat belt of a motor vehicle, whereby the retainer and connection piece incorporated a measurement arrangement for measurement of the belt force and output of a control signal for use by further motor vehicle safety components. The arrangement comprises a pressure sensitive sensor arranged between opposing surfaces within a recess designed for its support.
