The method for warning or alerting a motor vehicle driver to the necessity to turn on or off special lights for special driving circumstances, e.g. fog lights. According to the method an arrangement is used to detect a particular driving conditions that necessitate switching on or off of special lights. A driver is then warned, via a warning device, of the need to switch the lights on or off. An Independent claim is made for a warning arrangement that is implemented within a motor vehicle control unit, especially in the control unit for the vehicle braking system.
