Film holder for use in dental radiography by insertion in the mouth. The holder comprises a bite plate (11) and a back plate (13), essentially at right angles to the bite plate. An X-ray recording medium, e.g. a film (16), is positioned on the back plate. A blocking layer (17) is placed, within the beam path, between the recording medium and the back plate.
