REFLECTION TYPE HIGH-VOLTAGE DISCHARGE LAMP AND LIGHTING DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stabilize a property of a reflection type high-voltage discharge lamp by keeping the surround of a light emitting tube in vacuum without increasing the lamp in size. SOLUTION: The light emitting tube is electrically and mechanically connected to a lead wire, and metallic pipes 34a, 34b are inserted inside a reflection mirror, and the lead wire 2a of the light emitting tube is welded to the metallic pipe 34a to electrically and mechanically held. The inside of the mirror is kept in vacuum by evacuating through the other metallic pipe 34b, and the metallic pipe 34b and a lead wire 2b are melted to airtightly fix lead wire 2a with the metallic pipe 34b.
