PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an efficient concentration device for highly water-containing sludge in which much initial investment and running cost are not required because of its small-sized equipment scale and its simple structure. SOLUTION: This sludge concentration device comprises: a metal honeycomb type filter obtained by mutually piling metallic thin sheets and metallic thin corrugated sheets in layers, having many openings in the piled direction and having a prescribed thickness in the direction vertical to an opening face; and a sludge concentration tank and a sludge separation tank adjacent via the metal honeycomb type filter. The sludge concentration tank is provided with a sludge/flocculant introduction tube, and a concentrated sludge exhaust tube. The sludge separation tank is provided with a separated liquid exhaust tube. High water-containing sludge introduced from the sludge/flocculant introduction tube together with a flocculant is flocculated, and a water layer infiltrates into the side of the separation tank and the flocculated sludge is stored in the sludge concentration tank by the metal honeycomb type filter, so that it is separated into concentrated sludge and a separated liquid, and the concentrated sludge can be taken out from the concentrated sludge exhaust tube, and the separated liquid from the separated liquid exhaust tube.
