<p>The invention relates to an oil spill collection device. The inventive device is designed to be connected to the hull of a vessel, on each of the sides thereof close to the bow. The device comprises an arm (1) which takes the form of an almost-semi-cylindrical frame (8) housing a screw (10) which moves the crude oil towards the hull of the vessel, said frame being made rigid using a plurality of rear plates (13). Moreover, the frame is open at the front and the top thereof. The free end of the above-mentioned arm comprises a float (21) while the inner end thereof is provided with a collector device (3) into which the screw (10) discharges. The aforementioned collector device contains a mechanism (22) which transmits power to the screw from inside the vessel and a tube which is connected to a suction pump that is also located inside the vessel. In this way, as the vessel moves forward, the crude oil penetrates the inside of the frame (8) and is conveyed longitudinally therein towards the container (3) from where it is drawn towards the inside of the boat.</p> |
