PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a diphenylanthracene derivative and an organic electroluminescent element using the same. SOLUTION: The blue light emitting compound that is the diphenylanthracene derivative of chemical formula I having a structure with introduced alkoxy groups and substituted or not substituted amino groups. The organic electroluminescent element uses the same. The blue light-emitting compound is excellent in thermal stability and crystal stability, easy to purify and easy to form a thin film by utilizing its solubility to solvents, and capable of preparing the organic electroluminescent element with improved luminance, driving voltage and the light emitting efficiency characteristics. In chemical formula I R<SB>1</SB>or R<SB>2</SB>are each H, a 1-20C straight chain or branched alkyl group or the like, Ar<SB>1</SB>-Ar<SB>4</SB>are each a 6-10C aryl group or the like, wherein the Ar<SB>1</SB>and Ar<SB>2</SB>, Ar<SB>3</SB>and Ar<SB>4</SB>are optionally linked to each other.
