PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a squirrel cage induction motor capable of further being restrained in a starting current and increasing starting torque by a simple structure. SOLUTION: Magnetic substances (11, 14) installed on a rotor side are brought near a rotor core 3 side and disposed in a range from the outmost periphery of a rod-like conductor 4 inserted in the rotor core 3 to the inside diameter of a stator core 6.
