PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for stably detecting humans, even when an image sensor chip having large dispersion in the sensitivity characteristics is used. SOLUTION: A sensitivity correction coefficient K, provided corresponding to the characteristics of an imaging device 2 or an image sensor chip 4, is stored in a K register 13, in advance. An image processing part 10 finds a gain G of the imaging device 2, based on an average value of the image (lightness of the image) obtained from the imaging device 2, corrects the gain G found, using a gain correction value K, and adjusts the gain of the imaging device by a gain-adjusting part 11, using the corrected gain KG value.
