PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable electronic apparatus provided with an expansible antenna capable of obtaining an electric length longer than heretofore without making the apparatus large in size and heavy in weight. SOLUTION: In a portable telephone in this invention provided with the expansible antenna, a first stage antenna element 51 and a second stage antenna element 52 constituting the antenna are mutually connected coaxially. The first stage antenna element 51 is provided with a core body 55 formed by winding a metallic wire 50 spirally at a prescribed pitch, the core body 55 is wound with a gap G between unit winding parts arranged at a prescribed pitch, and the gap G is filled up with an insulating member 56 spirally extending between the unit winding parts.
