<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical disk drive capable of stably outputting a laser diode in a transition period. <P>SOLUTION: The optical disk drive includes: a 2nd voltage output circuit 16 which outputs a control voltage; a constant current control circuit 46 which controls the control voltage to have a voltage value VWDC_R so that at least a part of a current flowing to a light emitting element during reproduction of data is held constant; a constant power control circuit 32 which controls the control voltage to have a voltage value VWDC_W so that the output power of the light emitting element during erasure of data is held constant; and a switching timing circuit 42 which switches the control of the 2nd voltage output circuit 16 from the constant current control circuit 46 to the constant power control circuit 32. The optical disk drive is characterized in that before the switching timing circuit 42 switches the constant current control circuit 46 to the constant power control circuit 32, the control voltage is made to approximate the voltage value VWDC_W from a voltage value VWDC_R. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
