<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To complete necessary printing without causing omission of a page in a set of sheets even when an abnormal state such as discontinuation of consecutive printing occurs in the course of the consecutive printing in a sort mode. <P>SOLUTION: In the image forming apparatus, a mater machine (main machine) 90 and a slave machine (remote machine) 91 are connected by wire cables 92, share print jobs and print consecutively. When an abnormal state arises in the slave machine 91 and consecutive printing is made impossible, the master machine 90 continues printing from the page at which the printing discontinuation by the slave machine 91 arose. Thus, an OFF operation of the main power source of the image forming apparatus, power failure, system errors, and communication errors can be dealt with as abnormal states. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
