<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a demand control system in which a flicker indication being generated from a power measuring apparatus depending on power consumption can be utilized as a pulse signal for monitoring with a demand power monitor. <P>SOLUTION: The demand control system comprises an apparatus 2 for measuring power being supplied to a load, and a monitor 4 for monitoring demand power being consumed by a fixed load 10 and a regulation load 8. The power measuring apparatus 4 comprises a first liquid crystal display 22 where the flicker state is varied depending on the power consumption state, and a means 50 for detecting the flicker state of the liquid crystal display 22.
