ELECTRODE CATALYST FOR OXYGEN REDUCTION, AND GAS DIFFUSION ELECTRODE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrode catalyst with higher oxygen reduction activity compared with a conventional one by providing the electrode catalyst suitable as a catalyst for oxygen reduction, and a gas diffusion electrode at low overvoltage. SOLUTION: The electrode catalyst is a composite catalyst of rare earth oxide particulate and silver particulate carried on a conductive carrier. The electrode catalyst with high oxygen reduction activity is realized by forming solid-solution of the rare-earth oxide particulate and alkaline-earth metal. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI
