PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form a coating film with a pattern of a three-dimentional character, a mark or a graphic which has excellent color feeling or bright feeling and light color tone without causing color uneveness, or the like, of the coating film on a material to be coated. SOLUTION: A colored base coating material (A) for forming a coating film having lightness (L*value) of≥10 based on the L*a*b*colorimetric system stipulated by JIS Z 8729, a magnetic pattern forming clear coating material (B) containing a magnetic metal coating pigment (b1) and a clear coating material(C) are successively applied in this order on the material to be coated.
