PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a program information recorder and a program information recording and reproducing device for enabling a user to easily select a desired program among many programs supplied by digital broadcasting to enjoy the contents of the selected program. SOLUTION: A tuner 1 receives music information supplied together with a genre code showing the genre of the music from digital broadcasting, and meanwhile, the genre of music to be recorded is beforehand inputted by an operating part 8. Only music information added with a genre code that coincides with the genre inputted beforehand by the operating part 8 is selected among pieces of received music information and recorded in a hard disk drive 2.
