PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermoformable polarizing lens having a substrate with glass transition temperature adjusted. SOLUTION: This is an article formed by combining a polarizing layer 20 with the substrate 40 composed of a polymer mixture so that the glass transition temperature of the substrate 40 is adjusted around 100°C. This permits the lens to be thermoformed at a temperature around 100°C that maintains integrity of the polymer. The article can be used as a standalone lens injection-molded through an injection/compression coining process in which stress inside a lens is minimized or as a polarizing insert for a lens.
