A process and apparatus for complete removal of glass from polyvinyl butyral/glass security laminates operate by (a) dipping various-sized pieces in a cage into a water bath with a dissolved catalyst while heating the water to above room temperature by stirring; (b) introducing the pieces into an additive-free water bath at below room temperature and sporadically onto a conveyor belt; (c) drying at a mild temperature; and (d) cooling and granulating.
