The inverted toothed chain (1) has chain joints (4), each of which has a pin bolt (6), two outer link plates (5) connected by the pin bolt, and at least one inner link plate (7) installed on the pin bolt to move between the outer link plates. The inner link plates are each manufactured by a powder metallurgical process and/or a forming process such as extruding or rolling. The inner link plate is a section of a prefabricated profile cut to the desired width.
