<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air bag device for knee protection capable of improving the rigidity of a case and deploying and inflating an air bag smoothly. <P>SOLUTION: The air bag device for knee protection is disposed on the front side of a sitting occupant, stores the folded air bag 68 and an inflator 61 for supplying gas for inflation to the air bag 68, and has a case body 21 made of sheet metal opening on the back side of the vehicle. The case body 21 has a cylindrical peripheral wall 22 opening on the back side of the vehicle and a bottom wall for covering the front side of the vehicle of the peripheral wall 22.
