PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate manufacture of a coupling 10 including a first annular coupling member 12 and a second annular coupling member 14. SOLUTION: This method for machining the coupling includes steps for: combining the first coupling member with a mechanical assembly 100 which comprises a plurality of grinding wheels 110 combined with a tool storing member 108; forming at least one of protrusion between abutting troughs by machining the plurality of troughs 44 in the first coupling member by using at least one of the plurality of grinding wheels; combining the second coupling member with the mechanical assembly; and machining the plurality of troughs 46 in the second coupling member by using at least one of the plurality of grinding wheels to rotatably combine the second coupling member with the first coupling member.
