PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a pneumatic tire by which a normal postcure inflation treatment can be applied to even the tire, the rigidity of the side part of which is low on account of light weight requirement, and to provide a device using the method. SOLUTION: In the method and device for manufacturing the pneumatic tire T which sets the pneumatic tire T right after vulcanization between a pair of upper/lower sheet rings 2a, 2b and 2b', then inflates the tire T by blowing air into it and cures the tire T by cooling while keeping the tire T inflated, the air is blown into the tire T by interposing sealing means 5 and 7 between the bead part Bb and the upper sheet rings 2b, 2b' of the tire T.
