PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a traffic information providing system that can clearly inform a user of an "indistinct" section to its receiving side. SOLUTION: This traffic information providing system is equipped with a traffic information providing device which provides the quantity of state of traffic information in each quantized distance unit set by diving an objective road and mask bit information indicating the validity or invalidity of the quantity of state as the traffic information and a traffic information utilizing device which reproduces effective quantities of state by using the mask bit information upon receiving the traffic information.
