PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image capturing apparatus for capturing an image and removing an adhered material within the same apparatus. SOLUTION: The image capturing apparatus 1 is configured to capture an image formed on a surface of an object 11 when carrying the object 11 inserted by manual feed from a carrying path entrance 12 to a carrying path exit 13, and provided with: a carrying unit 14 for carrying the object 11 from the carrying path entrance 12 to the carrying path exit 13; an adhered material removing unit 15 for removing the adhered material adhered to the surface of the object 11; and an image capturing unit 16 located at a post-stage of the adhered material removing unit 15 and for capturing the image on the surface of the object 11.
