摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an image reader capable of being made small in size and reduced in power consumption and capable of compensating attenuation of the quantity of light incident on a line sensor due to a characteristic of an imaging lens with a simple configuration. SOLUTION: The image reader guides light emitted by a plurality of LEDs 202 which are juxtaposed in a horizontal scanning direction A to a document surface and makes its reflected light incident on a line sensor through the imaging lens. The LEDs 202 are juxtaposed on a flexible substrate 301, which is fitted to a slider 208 through a base 302 made of an elastic material. Both ends of the base 302 are held by eccentric cams 404 whose rotational positions are freely adjustable with dials 401 and 402 and both ends of the flexible substrate 301 are curved together with the base 302 to be closer to the document surface than to the center part.
