PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide excellent optical characteristics of reflection damping quantity of 50 dB or more, and to prevent deterioration even in high-temperature and high-humidity environments. SOLUTION: This optical connector ferrule comprises a sintered body of zirconium, and an optical fiber is inserted and fixed to a center through hole, with a tip surface in a protruded spherical form of the optical fiber including an end surface polished. The tip surface that is finished and polished has no flaws of width exceeding 2μm, and rhombohendral phase exists in it. This ferrule is manufactured by finishing and polishing the tip surface in the protruded spherical form with a diamond abrasive film provided with a polishing surface comprising diamond grains of average grain size d50of 0.01μm or more and 0.1μm or less after rough finishing.
