<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multi-purpose flow sensor and system which can be generally applied and do not require substantial changes over a wide range of measurement parameters. <P>SOLUTION: The flow sensor includes an attachment plate, a bent plate and a sensing assembly. The attachment plate is attached to an air hose. The attachment plate is flexibly coupled to the bent plate which is displaced in response to the gas flow. The sensing assembly is disposed on the bent plate, and comprises a temperature sensor which senses a relatively low flow during heat mode, and at least one displacement sensor which senses a relatively high flow during displacement mode. The temperature sensor outputs a heat mode signal, and the displacement outputs a displacement mode signal. The flow sensing system comprises the flow sensor, a processor, a memory and a computer. The processor responses the heat and displacement mode signals. The computer is coupled to the processor to control the calibration of the flow sensor. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
