PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composite excellent in mechanical properties employing conjugation between an anionic polymer and a cationic polymer at the molecular level, and its manufacturing method. SOLUTION: The composite is manufactured by dispersing and compatibilizing the anionic polymer and the cationic polymer having degree of substitution≥0.1 at the molecular level in a solvent containing 5-100 vol.% water and subjecting the obtained compatibilized solution to a casting, dipping or precipitation method.
