Method of providing broadcast/multicast service

Methods and system for preventing waste of radio resources in a communication system capable of providing a multimedia broadcast/multicast service. The methods and systems involve generating and broadcasting radio access capability information associated with a specific service. This information is received by one or more terminals which then use the information to determine if they have the requisite capability to receive the service. Radio bearers are established for those terminals that have the capability to receive the service.
