<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently manage personal information while security is secured. <P>SOLUTION: In a personal information management system, a computer 3 arranged in an information management station performs unitary management of personal information on a mailing list receiver and information on a mailing list distribution dealer. Range information (y) is ciphered and sent to the computer 4a of the desired mailing list distribution dealer from the computer 1 of the mailing list receiver. When the computer 4a receives it, the computer sends a ciphered information request to the computer 3 after decoding. When the computer 3 receives it, the computer decodes it, and verifies the content of the information request.
