<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a parking brake device using a parallel link to secure installation flexibility and improve operationality. <P>SOLUTION: In the parking brake device 1 composing the parallel link, a state holding means holding a control state is composed of a ratchet 21 having teeth 20 on a recessed circular arc inner periphery, and a pole 12 engageable with and releasable from the teeth 20 of the ratchet 21. The ratchet 21 is firmly fixed to a main medium part 5 connecting a brake wire 23, and the pole 12 is swingably fixed to an operation lever 2. A release rod 10 mounted to the operation lever 2 in an energized state is connected to the other end of the pole 12, and one end of the pole 12 is engaged with the ratchet 21 by pulling the other end of the pole 12 by energizing the release rod 10.
