PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an actuator having simplified construction for reducing costs. SOLUTION: A conversion mechanism 29 is provided for converting the rotating motion of a motor 14 into the linear motion of a rod 21. The conversion mechanism consists of a small-diameter compression coil spring 23 to be rotated with the rotating force of the motor 14 and a large-diameter compression coil spring 27 provided on the small-diameter compression coil spring 23 in a relatively rotatable manner for linearly moving the rod 21.
