PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To mold a melamine resin foam into a compression-molded article having good dimensional stability, form stability, uniformity, toughness and deformability by heating/compression molding the melamine resin foam and to remove formaldehyde during molding. SOLUTION: The melamine resin foam (1) is watered and dehydrated to be in an appropriate wet state. The melamine resin foam after watering/dehydration is heated and compression-molded, the thickness of the foam is decreased. Moisture in the foam is evaporated/vaporized during heating/compression and goes out of the foam through an open cell by compression deformation of the cell.
