PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a DVD player capable of searching a specified playing position without using TMU, and eliminating a shift from the specified playing position. SOLUTION: When a point setting key for setting an A or B point is depressed during playing, data necessary for playing is stored together with the address of NV<SB>-</SB>PCK being reproduced. If the title under reproduction is finished before the setting of the B point after the setting of the A point, the address of the last NV<SB>-</SB>PCK of the title is stored as the B point. When a plurality of groups of A and B points are set and an A-B repeat execution key is depressed, the addresses of the NV<SB>-</SB>PCK of the stored A and B points are read.
